If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you may benefit from evaluation with Spirometry. This is an in office testing of your lung function that can help diagnose and then monitor the treatment response to many lung conditions.

Do you experience heart palpitations, rapid heart rate, or a sensation of missed or skipped beats? Do you suffer from dizziness, chest pain, or shortness of breath?

24 hour Holter Monitoring is one of many diagnostic tools that can be used to evaluate these symptoms. This study involves the placement of 5 simple chest leads that attach to a small device you wear on your belt like a pager. The following day you will bring the device back to our office and Dr Wilkes will download and interpret a detailed 24 hour analysis of your heart rhythm.

Do you have upper back or neck pain triggered by muscle spasms, tender muscle knots, or fibromyalgia?

Dr Wilkes performs injections of these tender regions with fine needle injections of local anesthetic for both acute and long term pain management of these conditions.

Do you have moles or other skin lesions that are enlarging or displaying concerning changes?

Dr Wilkes will diagnose common skin conditions and when needed perform simple removal or excisional biopsy of atypical skin moles, cysts and other skin lesions.

Colposcopy:

Have you ever had an abnormal pap smear or cervical dysplasia? These findings need to be closely monitored for progression to pre-cancerous stages.

Dr Wilkes specializes in the evaluation and treatment of abnormal pap smears. Colposcopy uses a high powered microscope with special stains to closely examine the cervix and obtain tissue biopsies if needed.

LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure):

If your Colposcopy exam finds higher grade cervical changes, you may be a candidate for LEEP. This is an in office excisional procedure for the treatment of pre-cancerous cervical changes. Pain and recovery time are minimal.

Endometrial Biopsy:

Heavy or irregular menstrual cycles can be common, however some women need further evaluation to exclude pre-cancerous changes of the lining in the uterus.

Endometrial biopsy involves obtaining a small sample of the lining of the uterus with a thin pipette. This tissue sample is sent to a pathologist for further evaluation.

Do you have a history of excessive sun exposure, warts, or pre-cancerous skin lesions?

These are some examples of condtions that may benefit from cryotherapy - liquid nitrogen freezing for benign and pre-cancerous skin lesions

Some skin lesions like larger warts, or those resistant to cryotherapy, may require electrodessication.

This procedure involves the use of an electrosurgical instrument for destruction of benign and pre-cancerous skin lesions.
