About Us

Donnelly Wilkes, M.D. is a California native. He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr Wilkes obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California Irvine, and his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine on a full Navy Scholarship.

Following medical school he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy, completed residency training in Family Medicine at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, and served seven years on active duty.

Dr Wilkes served two combat tours in Iraq in 2004 and 2008, and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for Valor during the battle of Fallujah in April of 2004. As the Senior Medical Officer at Port Hueneme Naval Clinic, Dr Wilkes was responsible for the medical oversight of active duty members, their families and local Veterans.

Upon completion of his Naval service Dr Wilkes separated as a Lieutenant Commander and opened Wilkes Family Medicine in August of 2009. Dr Wilkes is a devoted husband, father and Christian. “My faith and family are everything to me, and I have dedicated this practice to them.”

Carrie Nibarger, PA-C is a licensed Physician Assistant, qualified to diagnose, treat and subscribe for our patients. With over ten years experience in a variety of specialties, such as orthopedics, spinal surgery and pediatrics, she is a great asset to our practice.

Carrie graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Physiology and went on to complete her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2003. She prefers family practice because, she told us, “I get to meet entire families and have long lasting relationships with patients where I can see their health improve as we work together over time.”

Carrie grew up in the South Bay where she developed a love for tide pools and outdoor sports like soccer and golf. She lives in the Conejo Valley with her two dogs and two cats who she says proudly, “are all rescues”. Carrie is also a member of the Army National Guard as a reservist. We are proud to have a member of our staff actively serving our country.

	Dannelle McDermott is the Practice Manager for Wilkes Family Medicine. Her heart for excellence in patient care has led to a 28-year career in medicine. Her experience covers a broad range of specialties including obstetrics and gynecology, pulmonary and internal medicine, general surgery, reproductive endocrinology, and the medical office laboratory. Dannelle feels honored to have worked for some of the finest physicians in the Conejo Valley. She has lived most of her life in Newbury Park where she and her husband raised their three children. She feels blessed to lead the Wilkes team in helping Dr. Wilkes pursue his dream to create a caring and pleasant environment for their patients and staff.
	Wendy Alldredge is our Front Office Administrative Assistant and is a great addition to the Wilkes Family Medicine patient service team. She received her Administrative Medical Assistant certificate through the Conejo Valley Adult School. Wendy's previous healthcare experience includes working in both the hospital and dental fields . She has been living in the Conejo Valley for 20 years where she enjoys sporting events with her two sons. Wendy looks forward to meeting and greeting each and every patient, as an enthused part of the Wilkes Family Medicine team. Her goal is to make each office visit an exceptional patient experience and to be an integral part of our patient advocate team.
	Kathleen Manning is one of our Front Office Administrative Assistants. You’re likely to encounter her when you’re checking in or out as she guides the process with her friendly demeanor and patient-centered service. Kathleen has lived in the Conejo Valley for 26 years where she and her husband enjoy a good barbeque with their family, including their five grandchildren. Having grown up in the Air Force, she’s lived in many states from Hawaii to North Carolina, but her bucket list includes a trip to Isreal! She is committed to the Wilkes Family Medicine standard of patient care and strives to make every patient visit a positive experience.
	Elizabeth Blagg, a Certified Medical Assistant, is a valued team member of Wilkes Family Medicine caring for patients in our back office. She joins our team with eight years of previous experience in the medical field – both front and back office. When asked about joining Wilkes Family Medicine, Elizabeth says she’s enthusiastic about “being a part of a team that practices good medicine and values”. Her compassion is evident as she strives to make a difference in each patient’s day. Elizabeth lives in Simi Valley with her teen-age daughter who she thinks is “amazing” and her favorite thing to do is hang out with her large extended family whether it’s cooking, around a fire telling stories or a movie night in the backyard. Elizabeth continues the Wilkes Family Medicine mission of providing excellent health care while building relationships with patients.
	Michelle Brassell serves patients in both front and back office at Wilkes Family Medicine. She has worked in many specialties in her over 17 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant but says that family practice is by far her favorite because of the ever-changing needs of patients. Whether checking in patients at the front desk or prepping a patient for a doctor’s visit in the back, Michelle is always eager to give our patients the best experience possible with her attentive and proactive demeanor. She lives in Port Hueneme with her husband and golden retriever and a perfect day to her includes riding her Harley at a fund-raiser for a good cause.
	Mimi Grout is our Billing Specialist and patient advocate for billing matters. She is a nationally certified insurance coding specialist and though you may not encounter her on every visit, she is working hard to make sure your insurance is being properly applied to the services you receive at Wilkes Family Medicine. Mimi grew up here in Newbury Park and though she hasn’t moved far, she enjoys weekend travel and exploration of Southern California’s mountains, coast, fairs and festivals. Mimi thrives on the constant challenge of keeping up with insurance changes, and says the most rewarding feeling is when she has helped a patient get services paid for. Her dedication is exactly what we look for in a Wilkes Family Medicine team member.
